I have a question about the gear for the composite. Will it be ok for grass fields? The wood reaction with the shorter robart struts has made a great reputation for its ability to handle rougher grass fields. Will the PST heavy duty struts, mounts and wing/nose supports be capable of the same? I'm not talking flying off cow pastures, just the "average" flying field.

thanks!

Although we have not tested the gears to the limit just yet, the wing/nose landing gear mounts constructions are strong. The landing gear struts are machined from solid aluminum block. IMO, I don't see any reason why the Reaction ARF won't be able to handle grass field just the same or better than her build-up sister. We will do more testing this coming Sunday.

As a Suggestion, A larger front wheel will improve grass field opertaions especially on less than well groomed areas..

Thats what made me be bring up my question. With the long strut and the small wheel on the nose it looks a bit spindly to me for grass use. Will there be room to adapt a 3" wheel/possibly shorter strut to improve the "grassability" of the plane. Function to me in this regard is a concern and overrules looks.

thanks again

Our nose wheel will be spring loaded to lean back during taxi and take-off. This offset increases nose steering stability. I think you can fit 3 in wheel...will check.

Ehab, coming in on Wed afternoon? see you man. Look forward to another Sunday flying...get your Reaction ARF ready..

That would be great info to know, trust me there is a Reaction 54 in my future, preferably the composite. but it depends on my confidence level about the grass field thing.

take care

Performance wised, there is no restriction on the nose wheel size. Main wheel base is wide and ground handling is very good. The restriction would be the physical fit and that will depend on which nose strut are you using. PST nose strut will allow nose wheel from 2 to 3 inches.

We tested the Reaction ARF with 28lbs thrust turbine this past Sunday and she was ballistic. However, we still recommend 14-19 lbs turbine for Intermediate or entry level.

C'mon Kraivuth; tell the truth. Your R-800 did NOT pass the amphibian water test and the nose got wet!! What's up with that?

Ehab, thanks for the amphibian test. We will brighten the runway edge light when you fly next time. Note: Runway is the paved dark surface, not the soft green rice field

If we fly this weekend, I'll take some shots. There is plenty of room for almost anything. I will be adding smoke to mine. The two wings are joined by two aluminum spars and then they are bolted to the bottom of the fuse. I'll include a pic here showing the canopy hatch..

The nose can be removed. The wing is in 2 pieces joined together by aluminum tubes. The stab/elevator and vertical fins must be glued in. Clear canopy is provided together with cockpit tub.

Pictures below. I placed the JR PCM10X along for size reference. Cheers, Kraivuth S.

Nice model for the club field.
Nice visual improvements to a solid desin.
When and who will be handling this model?
Thanks,
Bob

Dean W. at HeliJet and Bruce Tharpe at BTE will be handling the North America distribution PST and Dealers will give full support for world-wide distribution.

We will not be at the Toledo show on April 4,5,6. However, we will be at Top Gun 2008 Lakeland Florida from April 23-27. For North America, first shipment will go to Bruce at BTE. As for order, please contact Bruce at BTE or Dean Wichmann at HeliJets or direct to PST Jets.

Cheers,
Kraivuth S.
