Thank you Bryan. Your R looks great! I got mine through Len McIntosh in New York, [email protected]

Is just an individual that you bought one new in the box or is he a distributor for them now? I don't know him.

He is the current U.S. distributor. It was shipped directly from the factory in Thailand to my house in San Diego.

The new ones do not have the seam running along the top of the fuselage.

Well, this past weekend I got in a LOT of flying with my RXN at West Texas Jets hosted by my club Wings Miniature Aircraft Society. I wasn't really ready for the big weekend, but with the help of my good friend Nick Johnson, he helped me get this jet programmed into my (somewhat) new DX18 transmitter. Nick also helped me chase down an air leak in the gear side of my pneumatic system. Worked it down to a leak right at the nipple on the new Robart tank. Got it switched out and works great now.

Got six flights in on Saturday with near perfect weather. Mine is powered with a JetCat P-90 RXi and thrust is just fine for my liking! Plenty of speed and vertical for me. Have yet to really play with the speed brake on mine. Anyof you use it routinely? What can you say about how and when you use it? Is it very effective, etc???

Attended the Best In The West Jet Rally and brought my recently completed Reaction. Ali Machinchy was kind enough to do the maiden for me and then I got 3 more flights on it in what was at times very busy skies with 6 flight stations. All the good things you hear about how Reactions fly are true. I even met Len McIntosh, the U.S. PST distributor, who came all the way out from New York.

The following is a video of the Reaction including the maiden flight by Ali and my first flight as well, although you will see that my flight was much more conservative, being my first time to fly it and in very busy skies. Enjoy!

Great vid, Bob. Thanks for posting. Did you know Ali prior to the event? That's pretty cool getting him to do the maiden!

Haven't flown my ARF for several months (same color scheme as yours). The vid makes me want to get mine out and play...

Bob

Congrats on your maiden, video looking good man.

I can't complain at all about the ReactionX of my own - with P120SX on diesel.

I have a 3.6l main tank and 1L smoke tank both full on take off - around 6 mins flight time + taxi and landing circuits had around 50 flights now - still love it.

It flys so predictable and with my current setup lands sweet every time.

BTW I have installed telemetry and airspeed indicator with live voice feedback, giving me airspeed when my gear is down (landing approach) hell it takes a lot of guess work out of approach speed - greasing it in at 50-60kph.

I did have to change from the original tires to something more durable adapted onto the PST wheels - on bitumen - that would be my only gripe.

Stay upright.

Thank you Bruce and John!
Yes, I met Ali at last years BITW and previously by email (when he still lived in UK) to purchase an instrument panel for my CompARF Marchetti SF-260.
Ali is incredible. He spends all day helping others with maiden flights, test flights and setups.
Not to get off subject, but being modelers you gotta love this 1/3 scale Marchetti instrument panel.

That is a nice piece of work - glad you don't actually have to wire it up...very busy / detailed.

That's nicer than a lot of finished models.

Hey guys,

Can anyone provide some guidance about turbine positioning? I'm using a P90 and would like to know how far out the turbine should protrude under the fuse. The distance would impact which way I turn my jetcat mounting bracket.

Phil

My P120sx nozzle tip is sitting about 5/8" beyond the end of the open section above the turbine. In other words get the turbine as far back as you can to obtain balance. On mine I needed just a little 60grams on the nose to balance it perfectly - that is with batteries etc loaded up front inside the nose cone. So simply get your turbine mounted as rearwards as comfortable and then adjust balance with batteries etc up front. Stick out length isn't really critical. Hope that helps.

Phil:
Here are several photos with my RXN and it's JetCat P-90RXi turbine. I hope these give you the information you are looking for. The 90 is a great match for this baby! I love it!

Another great morning out with the Reaction. Been a few months since I have flown it.
34 hours on the turbine (K140) now and still going strong.. guess I should get it serviced soon
This thing does the best slow rolls..
Super loud without the pipe... love it.

Anyone know how to embed a link to a facebook page video? Cant seen to get it working..

I've been working on setting up a used air frame that I got this winter. It came with the smaller standard tank. I'm going to run a 120 so I wanted to get the larger 3.8L tank. None of the distributors do anything with PST any longer and I sent an email to PST wit no reply. Bruce Tharpe is a friend and he even sent a message to his contact at PST with no reply. So now I'm thinking of adding an aux tank, similar to the add on one that PST offered. Any chance anyone out there might have anything?

Thanks!
Scott

Scott, try Carlos at CM Jets. He makes great Kevlar fuel tanks at a very reasonable price.

It's a shame this and the PST revision are no longer made. Would love to have one.

I emailed Len last week and PST is still making jets. He said there is currently a 2 month lead time on the Reaction.

Hello, I just picked one of these up. It is the all composite version with the long nose. I’m planning on using my P100rx for power. I am guilty of not reading through the entire thread. Any comments on how this will perform with the 100?

thanks

airborn900, you'll do fine with a 100. I have a Wren 100DCi (22lb thrust) in mine and it's a short nose which is heavier than a long nose due to the weight required in the nose to get it to balance.
Here's a video from 2016 BITW of my short nose Reaction with the 100 on it's maiden flight flown by Ali Machinchy and it's 2nd flight flown by me. You'll see that it has plenty of power with a 100.
