Jeff,

I had the short nose a couple of years ago (I have the long nose one now) and I don't remember the exact CG location, but I did have it set at the 'experienced' location (further back)......

I have the airbrake installed in mine. It adds a touch more drag, but it's not significant.

... As far as "saving the trouble" of installing it, I think it was worth the extra 2 or 3 hours...

I have 2 PST brake units... 1 is unused, I can mail it to you or just the rings. I won't use it as I use BVM SS-2.

I don't know the size... but I did have the same problem you have (Both on a BVM and PST brake unit), to fix it I didn't replace the o-rings. I slathered O-ring lube on the rings and now it's...

My first Reaction (snub-nose) had the lead weight and I buttered it up with uncle Bob's AeroPoxy and I can see how it would be a b&*#ch to get to, you have a small challenge there I guess.

Kevin, my jet weighs in at 30 lbs, 10oz. fully loaded with fuel and smoke juice... all that is pushed around with a P-80 (22 lbs thrust). I can comfortably take off with 75% power too.

It's tough to tell from the pics, but is it the hinge strip lifting from the skin? If you push up or down on the flap/ailerons, does the strip come away from the skin...in other words do...

I did the airbrake on mine and have used it a few times.

The only drawback to having the airbrake is a couple more hours of your time during assembly and one servo ;)... It will take longer...

Just an observation... shouldn't the servo plug connectors at the fuse be 'female'? I suppose it wouldn't...
